Less restrictions for Muslims than for non-Muslims?
I and my family flew home from Prague recently.
The security at the airport didn’t seem to be much different from what it is like at other European airports. But I noticed something at the security check point that made me wonder, or, I guess, even a little aggravated.
Do we here in the West now have more respect for Muslims than we have for non-Muslims? In front of me in the check point queue was a small group of persons wearing niqabs and (more or less) floor touching gowns. Completely covered in their black outfits, only their eyes could be seen, but judging from their height, width, and, of course, tradition, they were all women––of different ages.
These persons were not asked to remove anything in order to verify that they were not hiding anything suspicious. My son, however, who had a little hat on his head, was asked to remove it. And a lady (Caucasian) was asked to remove a jacket or coat she had folded over her arm.
Wouldn’t it be more correct if Muslims traveling here in the West applied to the rules and regulations that apply to everyone else, or just quit flying?
Have we now voluntarily started adopting to what it may be like when European countries are taken over by the Muslims? Less restrictions for Muslims than for non-Muslims?
I have here assumed the women in black were Muslims, without really knowing for sure. The reason I have done so, is the fact that the old pre-Muslim tradition of wearing niqab seems to have been given a religious importance only by Muslims. (Correct me if I am wrong.)
